In 1944, a group of pastors walked through a wooded landscape, sat on a log together, and prayed for God to guide them. They sought to know if this location was the place that God was calling people to gather, to be renewed, and to serve. The answer was yes. The land was purchased and Lutherdale became a reality.

Today, Lutherdale serves over 10,000 people annually with a vibrant ministry of hospitality. Lutherdale has been ACA accredited since 2000. It has grown from a summer camp to a year-round Conference Center that provides high-quality programs and facility rentals for youth, adults, and families.

Affiliated with Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Lutherdale values ecumenical partnerships as well as partnerships with community organizations throughout Wisconsin and Northern Illinois. Lutherdale is also an active member of Lutheran Outdoor Ministries, a national network of 130 ELCA camps.

A mixture of full-time and part-time staff keep the ministry of Lutherdale moving forward throughout the entire year. Lutherdale hires approximately 30 young adults during the summer camp season and is blessed with many volunteers who assist with property projects, leadership in programming, the annual Lutherdale Fest Quilt Auction, and on the Board of Directors.

For 75 years, Lutherdale has been a faith community, dedicated to building lives in Christ, through the wonder of God’s creation, and the study of God’s word. We invite you to join us at Lutherdale for a life changing adventure!
