WHAT IS THE TIME COMMITMENT?

Being a part of the Summer Team at Lutherdale is an awesome and major commitment.  All summer positions begin with paid staff training. 

Leadership positions run from May 29 - August 13.

All other summer positions run June 1 - August 13.

 

DO I GET ANY TIME OFF?
Staff are expected to lead camp fun for 6 days a week with 24 hours off and a 1-2 hour break per day.

 

WHAT ABOUT THE PAY?

$350 a week plus room & board paid bi-weekly with additional for lifeguards, leadership staff, and returning staff

Cabin Counselor

Work directly with campers completed grades K - 11, adults, and families in all aspects of camp on-site – including swimming, challenge course activities, arts and crafts, field games, etc. They care for, nurture, lead, and supervise up to 10 campers at a time, as well as stay in the cabin with them.

Applicant must be 18 by June 1.

Youth Camp Coordinator

Responsible for carrying out and managing on-site youth programming. The Youth Camp Coordinator will be responsible for planning activities for all youth programming and oversee the LIT program for high school students who are interested in leadership.

Applicants are asked to have completed at least 1 year of post high school schooling or be at least 19 years of age.

Specialty Camp Coordinator

Responsible for carrying out and managing all specialty programs on-site including Team USA, Camp Odayin, Camp Oasis, and Ministry Professionals Camp. Responsibilities include coordinating with Specialty groups and participants to tailor camp activities to their needs/abilities and creating schedules, task lists, and assignments for Specialty weeks of camp. Applicants are asekd to have completed at least 1 year of post high schooling or be at least 19 years of age.

Ropes Course Coordinator

Facilitate the high and low elements, and 40’ climbing tower with campers of all ages and abilities. Directly responsible for the safety of all elements, record-keeping, organization and care of equipment. Must have experience with low challenge course elements, belaying, and physically able to climb the high challenge course elements. Manages and works alongside the Ropes Course Assistant.

This is a leadership position 

Ropes Course Assistant

Work with the Ropes Coordinator to help facilitate the high and low elements of our challenge course and 40’ climbing tower. Must have experience with low challenge course elements, belaying, and physically able to climb the high challenge course elements. When not working with the Ropes Course, this position will be in a cabin counseling.

Environmental Education Coordinator

Develop and lead age-appropriate nature-based activities for cabin groups, and assists with general care of summer farm animals. Will work closely with the Facilities Manager and Program Director. Must be comfortable working with all ages.

Waterfront Coordinator

Applicant must hold an approved lifeguard certification, with current CPR certification or ability to get before summer begins. Guarding experience required. The Waterfront Coordinator is responsible for maintaining safety in all waterfront activities and overseeing waterfront staff.

Prefer the applicant be at least 21 years old with 2 years of college or related experience

Health Care Coordinator

Prefer the applicant be at least 21 years old with 2 years of college or related experience. CPR/First-aid training is required. Directly responsible for providing medical care and dispensation of prescription medication to campers that require it. Strong organizational skills are required. Must be comfortable working with all ages.

Media Coordinator

Responsible for taking and uploading photos daily to Google photos. Experience with movie editing, photography, and computers (PC or Mac) preferred. The use of personal equipment is preferred, but photos and video taken is the property of Lutherdale.

The Day Camp Coordinator shall have the responsibility for managing weekly Day Camp programs and will supervise and coordinate Day Camp Teams and programs. When on-site, the individual may serve as General Staff or in other leadership roles as fits the needs of the given program. The Day Camp Coordinators will work as a team to develop and implement best practices for our day camp ministry and will be the primary leaders while those programs are implemented.

Arts and Crafts Coordinator

The Day Camp Coordinator shall have the responsibility for managing weekly Day Camp programs and will supervise and coordinate Day Camp Teams and programs. When on-site, the individual may serve as General Staff or in other leadership roles as fits the needs of the given program. The Day Camp Coordinators will work as a team to develop and implement best practices for our day camp ministry and will be the primary leaders while those programs are implemented.

Lifeguard

Lifeguards must hold an approved lifeguard certification, with current CPR certification or will be trained in the first week of Staff training. Responsibilities include supervising campers in all waterfront activities and enforcing waterfront rules, maintenance of waterfront, proper cleaning and storage of equipment. If full time, this position will be in a counselor role as well. Applicant must be 16 by June 1.

Weekend, Hourly, and Full-time positions available.

Kitchen Staff

Responsible for assisting in all areas of food service, including facilitation of pack out meals and evening snack. No previous food service experience required. Other duties include meal prep, dishes, cleaning, and serving.

Weekend, Part-time, full-time, and hourly positions available

Weekend Staff 

Prefer the applicant be at least 21 years old, 2 years of college or related experience. Weekend Coordinators are responsible for weekend scheduling. Strong communication and leadership skills are required. Must be comfortable working with all ages and must have a valid driver’s license.
