WHAT IS THE TIME COMMITMENT?
Being a part of the Summer Team at Lutherdale is an awesome and major commitment. All summer positions begin with paid staff training. *Leadership & Lifeguard positions run from
May 30 - August 14.
All other summer positions run June 5 - August 14.
DO I GET ANY TIME OFF?
Staff are expected to lead camp fun for 6 days a week with 24 hours off.
WHAT ABOUT THE PAY?
$300 a week plus room & board - paid bi-weekly. PLUS, if you don't take any vacation time during the summer you will receive a $500 bonus at the end of the summer!

2022 Summer Positions



Cabin Leader
Work directly with campers completed grades K - 11, adults, and families in all aspects of camp on-site – including swimming, challenge course activities, arts and crafts, field games, etc. They care for, nurture, lead, and supervise up to 10 campers at a time, as well as stay in the cabin with them.
Weekend Staff
Lead weekend youth camps, family camps, and help host on-site groups Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon. Staff work with all ages in a variety of program roles – including arts and crafts, field games, waterfront activities, Bible study, etc. They provide hospitality and leadership all weekend.
Ropes Course Assistant
Work with the Ropes Coordinator to help facilitate the high and low elements of our challenge course and 40’ climbing tower. Must have experience with low challenge course elements, belaying, and physically able to climb the high challenge course elements.



Summer Kitchen Staff
Responsible for assisting in all areas of food service, including facilitation of pack out meals and evening snack. No previous food service experience required.
Other duties include meal prep, dishes, cleaning, and serving.
Arts & Crafts Manager
Responsible for creating, teaching, ordering, and coordinating age-appropriate arts and crafts for campers completed grades K-11, adults, and families. Duties include preparation of materials & project and cleaning up. Strong organizational skills are required.
Media Manager
Responsible for taking and uploading photos daily to Google photos. Experience with movie editing, photography, and computers (PC or Mac) preferred. The use of personal equipment is preferred, but photos and video taken is the property of Lutherdale.



Canteen/Office Assistant
Responsible for camp store operations, under the supervision of the Business Manager. Responsibilities include cash register operation, stocking inventory, mail delivery to campers, record keeping, etc.
Lifeguard*
Hourly, Weekend, & Full Summer Positions
Lifeguards must hold an approved lifeguard certification, with current CPR certification. Responsibilities include supervising campers in all waterfront activities and enforcing waterfront rules, maintenance of waterfront, proper cleaning and storage of equipment.
Weekend Coordinator*
Prefer the applicant be at least 21 years old, 2 years of college or related experience. Weekend Coordinators are responsible for weekend scheduling. Strong communication and leadership skills are required. Must be comfortable working with all ages and must have a valid driver’s license.



Summer Program Coordinator*
Prefer the applicant be at least 21 years old, 2 years of college, and camp or related experience. Directly responsible for leading summer programming alongside the Program Director. Strong communication and leadership skills are required. Must be comfortable working with all ages.
Ropes Course Coordinator*
Facilitate the high and low elements, and 40’ climbing tower with campers of all ages and abilities. Directly responsible for the safety of all elements, record-keeping, organization and care of equipment. Must have experience with low challenge course elements, belaying, and physically able to climb the high challenge course elements. Manages and works alongside the Ropes Course Assistant.
Environmental Education Coordinator*
Develop and lead age-appropriate nature-based activities for cabin groups, and assists with general care of summer farm animals. Will work closely with the Facilities Manager and Program Director. Must be comfortable working with all ages.



Health Care Coordinator
Waterfront
Coordinator*
Prefer the applicant be at least 21 years old with 2 years of college or related experience. Applicant must hold an approved lifeguard certification, with current CPR certification. Guarding experience required. The Waterfront Coordinator is responsible for maintaining safety in all waterfront activities and overseeing waterfront staff.
International Staff Coordinator*
Prefer the applicant to be at least 21 years old, 2 years of college or related experience. Directly responsible for helping international staff acclimate to working at camp in the US. Assists with documentation, visa requirements, and organization of weekend staff excursions. Strong communication and leadership skills are required. Must have a valid driver’s license.
Health Care
Coordinator*
Prefer the applicant be at least 21 years old with 2 years of college or related experience. CPR/First-aid training is required. Directly responsible for providing medical care and dispensation of prescription medication to campers that require it. Strong organizational skills are required. Must be comfortable working with all ages.
