The Opening Phase

With the cost savings provided by a partnership with ELCA Mission Builders, volunteers, modular construction, and skilled contractors, the Conference Center will soon be ready for our first guests.  The adult-friendly Conference Center has 20 comfortable hotel-style sleeping rooms, each with a private bath.  4 of the sleeping rooms are fully ADA compliant.  The Conference Center provides both flexibility and comfort with large and small room meeting room spaces, as well as a welcome and hospitality center.

Beautifully centered in camp and adjacent to the Dining Hall, the building will provide accessibility to people of all ages and abilities.  Interior construction continues as we prepare for the new Conference Center to open in 2020.

The Final Phase

Adult-friendly Facilities to Serve Adult Needs

The new Conference Center provides suitable facilities for people of all ages and mobilities.  Now we must make the final touches on the Conference Center, complete required landscaping, remodel to create an ADA entrance into the Dining Hall, and improve roadways, to ensure the accessibility and safety of all who come to use this new facility.

Renewal of Aging Facilities

As we continue to improve facilities, some of our oldest youth cabins have been removed for the new Conference Center.  The Watson Center will be updated to increase flexibility for use by youth and adults.  This facility is still actively used, and much needed for the capacity at camp.  Passage of time, use, and changes in guests needs, require us to make renovations to ensure this building meets today’s needs. In addition, we will address the aging walk-in cooler and the upper level restrooms in the Dining Hall.

Generous gifts totaling $2.9 Million have already been received, completing the Opening Phase of our campaign and allowing for the construction of the new Conference Center. Lutherdale will Finish the Adventure and raise the remaining $1.7 Million by conducting the Appeal among congregations, individuals and families, corporations and foundations.
