Please accept our invitation to become a member of Order of the Log. A gift of $100 or more will add your name to our honor roll of donors. Your commitment to give $250 or more for at least three years will add your name to the giving levels depending on the amount.
In 1944 a group of Lutheran pastors and church members in the northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin area shared a vision to establish a camping ministry. Upon visiting a site on a hill overlooking Green Lake just north of Elkhorn, Wisconsin they realized the need to commit their plans and the great financial needs of starting a camp to God. Finding an old log at the top of that hill, they sat and prayed for wisdom, guidance and God’s provision. Years later, in order to preserve that old log, it was fashioned into the mantelpiece in the dining hall, as a constant reminder to all of the founders' willingness to trust God through prayers for all the resources that they would need. Lutherdale still seeks God's blessing and provision and continues to be supported by individual donors and church congregations of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America in the southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois area.
Today we continue to gather around this log and recognize those who contribute at least $100 per year as members of the "Order of the Log" >recalling the faith of those founders who trusted God for the resources to start Lutherdale.
In addition to that recognition Lutherdale also recognizes and honors those donors whose resources enable them to commit to give more. In appreciation for their financial sacrifices we also recognize donors for gifts at these various levels:
- Cedar Level – a three year commitment to give at least $250 per year
- Birch Level – a three year commitment to give at least $500 per year
- Maple Level – a three year commitment to give at least $1,000 per year
- Hickory Level – a three year commitment to give at least $5,000 per year
- Walnut Level – a three year commitment to give at least $10,000 per year.
