At this workshop you will learn the concepts and skills of cutting and piecing a quilting project. During the first session we will learn how to rotary cut and piece accurately while making 3 blocks. Over lunch we will hear a lecture on the “Essential Concepts Needed for Successful Quilts”. Followed by session two where we will learn how to piece a small quilt.
What To Bring:
SEWING: A sewing machine in good working order that you are familiar with using, Scissors, Seam Ripper, Straight Pins, Thread in tan or gray, 12 x 18 cutting mat,12 ½ x 6 ½ ruler, rotary cutter.
FABRICS: 1 yard each of a light, medium, and dark print in your favorite colors.
Fabric Kits are available in a variety of colors for $20 each.

Creatively and wisely navigating the last third of life is an ever changing challenge. Many more people are living longer thus greatly increasing the promise and perils of elderhood. Listening to the voices gathered from interviews with 60, 70, 80 and 90 year-olds, we will consider how to “seize the promises” and “manage the perils” of aging. During the course of the conference, through the lens of faith, participants will not only come to a better understanding of aging, but develop there own “pathway” of quality life during their senior years.
Keynote Speaker: Roland Martinson Professor Emeritus of Children Youth and Family Ministry. Martinson is a member of the National Council on Family Relations. His works include: Gearing Up for Youth Ministry in the 21st Century (1992); Effective Youth Ministry, A Congregational Approach (1988); Bringing Up Your Child and Ministries with Families (1986); and A Joyful Call to Ministry (1982).
