Year-Round Employment at Lutherdale

Lutherdale is seeking to hire a Part Time Maintenance Assistant

20 to 30 Hours per week
Weekends required
Minimum Qualification

  • Mature, capable, mechanically-oriented person
  • Skill in various building trades preferable (i.e., electrical, plumbing, painting, construction, etc.)
  • Ability to accept guidance and supervision from the Operations/Facilities Manager, and work with others
  • Self-starter and organized
  • Must have physical strength to perform job duties
  • Must have ability to use and operate equipment and tools to perform tasks assigned to maintain the grounds and facilities of Lutherdale
  • Must pass a background check

General Qualifications

2017 Summer Staff Positions

 

Cabin Leader                                                                              

 

Prefer the applicant be at least 18 years old. Prefer 1 year of  college or life experience. Cabin Leaders will work directly with campers on site in all aspects of camp, will also spend some weeks off site with our Vacation Bible School program.

Lifeguard                                                                                                                                 

Prefer the applicant be at least 18 years old (some exceptions may apply) and high school graduate. Applicant must hold an  approved lifeguard certification, with current CPR certification.  Responsibilities include maintaining safety in all waterfront activities and maintenance of waterfront and boathouse.

Arts & Crafts Manager                                                                                                                      

Prefer the applicant be at least 18 years old and 1 year of college or life experience. Applicant will be responsible for creating, teaching, ordering, and coordinating arts and crafts. 

Summer Ropes Course Managers                                                                                        

Prefer the applicant be at least 18 years old. Prefer 1 year of     college and camp or related experience. Facilitate the high elements, low elements of our ropes course and 40’ climbing   tower. Must have experience with low ropes course and ability to learn belaying and other skills for tower and high course.  Must be physically able to climb the tower and high ropes course.

Summer Program Coordinator                                                                                             

Prefer the applicant be at least 21 years old, 2 years of college and camp or related experience. They are responsible for implementing the summer program on and off site and providing supervision for cabin leaders and activities staff. Also responsible for implementing Lutherdale’s Off-Site Vacation Bible School   ministry and providing leadership and supervision of day camp staff. Must be willing to work with all ages and have a valid driver’s license.

Health Care Coordinator                                                                                                    

Prefer the applicant be at least 21 years old with 2 years of college or life experience. Position requires an American Red Cross “Emergency Medical Responder” certification or higher.  The HCC is responsible for all health care, medication dispensing, and    records management.

Waterfront Coordinator                                                                                                        

Prefer the applicant be at least 21 years old with 2 years of college or life experience. Applicant must hold an approved lifeguard   certification, with current CPR certification. Guarding experience required. The waterfront coordinator is responsible for maintaining safety in all waterfront activities and overseeing waterfront staff.

Media Manager                                                                                                                      

Prefer the applicant be at least 18 years old and high school graduate. The media manager is responsible for processing our e-mail program, creating daily media, and creating the weekly DVD. Experience with movie editing, photography, and computers (PC and Mac) preferred. Will not be required to provide own equipment.

Canteen Manager                                                           

Prefer the applicant be at least 18 years old and high school  graduate. Responsible for operating camp store, restocking inventory, and keeping an accurate record of sales, etc.

 

Summer Kitchen Specialist

Prefer the applicant be at least 18 years old and high school  graduate. Responsible for assisting in all areas of food service, organizing pack out meals, and serving evening snack. No previous food service experience required.

 

What Lutherdale Expects of You                                                                                            

  •  Being a part of the Lutherdale staff is a major commitment. The summer starts with 2 weeks of paid staff training and runs for 8 additional weeks. Contracts run from May 28th through August 18th, 2017. (coordinator leadership training earlier)
  • You will be expected to work 6 days a week and have 24 hours off each week.
  • Special Days/Weekends you will be required to be on site: May 28- June 9, 2017  = Staff Training & August 12, 2017 = Lutherdale Fest and Quilt Auction
  • Staff members are expected to abide by the code of ethics as written on the contract: conducting oneself in an exemplary manner adhering to high moral values both on and off camp.

What YOU Can Expect From Lutherdale

  • Salaries start at $225/week plus room and board.
  • Workers Compensation Insurance is provided as required by law.
  • We will provide you with two weeks of paid staff training to help prepare you for the summer.
  • Each staff member will receive 24 hours off each week, and 2 hours off each day.
